Every December our firm is excited to spend time and money toward a charitable cause that is chosen by a different CSC team member each year. For 2019, Fabiola “Fabby” Barrios selected Stepping Forward LA, a Los Angeles organization that helps young adults aging out of the foster care system transition successfully to adulthood through individualized guidance and connections to important resources.

Above all, Stepping Forward is a welcoming community of support and belonging. We spent a fun and inspiring day at the headquarters helping prepare for their holiday party while the “kids” patiently taught us how to make colorful blankets and wrapped presents with us elbow to elbow. Fabby attended the holiday event with the broader youth community later that week, and we look forward to collaborating with Stepping Forward LA again in the near future.

This year we had a couple of event partners that had an important impact. We want to thank the team at Instinet, a technology platform we utilize for trading workflow and analysis, who contributed generously to our donation and spent the day volunteering with us.

We also worked with the wonderful Sharefest group to link our firm’s support offerings to the true needs of the organization. Sharefest works in Los Angeles’ neglected neighborhoods to empower under-served youth to transform their future and become leaders of collaborative community change. This is our second year working with them and we appreciate their customizable group charity event services as much as we enjoy their company and support their mission.
