This past week I had the distinct privilege of presenting to Titan Capital Management undergraduate students at Cal State Fullerton. Kelly Ko, who is a former colleague of Cove Street’s President, Matt Weber, runs the program and is educating the next generation of value investors. Kelly asked me to present to the students on how Cove Street values companies and how we incorporate ESG into our decision process. These are topics that are not covered in depth in the annual presentation I give to the Simon Fellows within the UCLA undergraduate economics department. Also, Kelly asked if he could record the conversation and, under the heading of wanting to become a better lecturer and communicator, I said, “Sure!” What better way to improve than to watch yourself speak for 90 minutes???
