Meet Sophie Zeng, Our Women in Finance Intern

Sophie Zeng

We are pleased to announce the 9th and arguably last Women in Finance Intern at Cove Street Capital: Sophie Zeng. I don’t think we can take credit for the creation of an entire movement, but as is usually the case, Cove Street was early and we are delighted in our current difficulty in attracting a lot of candidates to a terrific experience… for all great reasons.

But we save the best for last?

Sophie is a rising senior at UCLA majoring in Economics and Financial Accrual Mathematics. She is an active member of the UCLA Benjamin Graham Value Investing Program and has previously interned at an investment bank,  mutual fund, and venture capital fund in China.  Although these claims are presently unverified, Sophie professes to enjoy skiing, traveling, and fishing, and her main aspiration in life is to have a Shiba Inu after graduation.

In her words, “I am really excited to intern at Cove Street Capital this summer. I find small-cap companies a great exploration and look forward to picking up both analytic and presentation skills.”

She would have more to say but she is presently submerged in full CSC immersion. God help her!

-Jeffrey
